TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) was first established 75 years ago when the Tamil Nadu government decided to start its own Public Service Commission. Since its inception TNPSC has over the years conducted examinations for giving employment to persons in various services of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, which also includes the State, Subordinate and Ministerial Services. TNPSC conducts over 170 tests for this purpose in the various categories of public services. TNPSC has two basic types of recruitment-Direct recruitment and indirect recruitment. Out of them the Combined Subordinate Services Examination –I (CSSE-I) is for direct recruitment in a variety of services under the Tamil Nadu Government. Syllabus of Group 2 Examination:
The syllabus of the Group 2 examinations is quite simple. It basically includes every topic that students have learnt from their 6th to 10th standard. The group 2 examinations are held in two stages. At first there is a preliminary test and only those candidates who qualify in this test can sit for the main examinations. Thousands of candidates apply every year for the group 2 exams and this has prompted authorities to devise this two stage plan.

Group 2 exams give access to high ranking posts in the government to the candidates. These posts are not as high profile as the group 1 posts or the IAS and IPS posts but nevertheless they are no less in importance.
