Details about the TNPSC Inspector of Fisheries:
TNPSC stands for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. TNPSC conducts more than 200 different tests for the staff of State Government for TNFS, TNPS, SCS, IFS, IPS and IAS officers. It is the body of the Government of Tamil Nadu taking care of all tasks relating to the state level recruitment.
TNPSC conducts exam for different posts among which, the inspector of fisheries finds significance. For the post of inspector of fisheries, the candidate should possess a degree in Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) or equivalent degree from a recognized university or the candidate should have obtained the certificate from central institute of fisheries education for an associate diploma in fisheries science. The candidate having a Master of Science degree with marine biology or zoology as the main subject can also apply for the post.
Among the different candidates applying for the post of inspector of fisheries, preference will be given to the candidates with B.F.Sc degree.
The pay scale offered for the post of inspector of fisheries is Rs.6500-200-11100pm. Generally certain reservation is made for women for the post of inspector of fisheries and if women candidates are not available for selection, the post will be filled by men candidates itself.
The candidates selected for the post of inspector of fisheries after successful completion of written and oral test, will be required to submit the certificate the physical fitness and the candidates will also be required to submit eye fitness certificate from a qualified eye specialist, in case the candidate have defective vision. Appointment is also provided for physically handicapped candidates and they will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness from the medical board to ensure that their physical handicap will not stop them from discharging the duties attached to the post of inspector of fisheries.
